Codex skips its web search tool, opens Google in browser instead

Developer ananayarora shared a fun agent quirk: when asked to fetch info, Codex ignored its built-in web search tool and instead opened the in-app browser to search Google directly. Ishan Goswami joked it's time to give Codex access to Exa. A notable example of suboptimal tool selection in agent workflows.
