A WIRED Japan interview: musician TOWA TEI's new album ZAMBIENT (released Aug 21) heavily uses generative AI — the title shortens 'hybrid ambient,' centered on the character for 'impure mess,' resisting AI's averages and sterile purity. The single 'THE SOURCE' has lyrics, performance and vocals born from AI collaboration. Video director Takeshi Nakamura (Google-genAI MV for 'APPLE') adds that overly precise prompts make work boring — both deliberately keep 'zanmi' (flavorful roughness) in sound and visuals.
