Google's $20 Workspace AI add-on slammed for leaving enterprise Gemini stuck on old Flash model

A user calls out one of the biggest "tech crimes" of the past two years: Google upsold Workspace customers on a $20/month AI add-on, then refused to ship new models into the service. Enterprise Gemini subscriptions remain stuck on an old Flash model even labeled as NEW, well behind the previous generation of frontier models.
Since most AI spend in adopting orgs goes to engineers, sales and ops teams are told to "just use Gemini." The author fears CFOs will simply renew these contracts for another three years after a token 10% discount.
