Codex user reports quota bug: scheduled tasks burn 30% of $200 plan overnight

Researcher Seth Lazar says OpenAI Codex is clearly broken: a set of scheduled tasks that used under 20% of his weekly quota now burn through 30%+ overnight even on sol medium and low settings. He argues automations are pointless if they eat the $200 rate limit in 3.5 days, leaving no room for interactive use. As a workaround, he installed codex router to switch to API billing, and plans to rebuild a higher-level setup that lets him move to Claude easily.
