Pushing back on claims that "LLMs converge on brain-like structures," Grady Booch argues the similarity holds only at the most primitive level: LLMs lack cortical columns and their groupings, anything like the brain's endocrine system, the rich differentiation of organic neuron classes, equivalents of the thalamus or corpus callosum, and any apparatus for plasticity.
