Claude can geoguess anonymous academic trolls to near-identity from little content

Rex Douglass investigated tiny anonymous X accounts that reply with insults to niche academic/math topics, assuming bots or influence campaigns. They turned out to be real human trolls, often in academic programs—"Job Rumors people but on X."
More striking side note: Claude is "terrifying at geoguessing" and can approximate who you are, grinding through many strategies and hypotheses from relatively little content—a sobering demonstration of AI-powered deanonymization.
