Nutanix Acquires Ryax to Squeeze More From Idle GPUs, Cutting Node-Hours 62% in Tests

Nutanix announced on September 22 the acquisition of Ryax Technologies, a Lyon-based company; terms were undisclosed and the deal is not material, with the Ryax team joining Nutanix in France.
The backdrop: enterprises are short on GPUs yet often reserve entire cards for jobs that only use them part of the time, paying for idle hours. Ryax's per-run sizing and shared scheduling will land in future releases of Nutanix Kubernetes Platform and Nutanix Enterprise AI; a 30-run test showed 62% fewer node-hours.
CEO Rajiv Ramaswami said agentic AI needs simpler operations and more work per piece of hardware; Red Hat, Broadcom, and Microsoft shipped related GPU-sharing controls in the same quarter.
