Elon Musk laid out his view of the robotics endgame on X: robots will eventually "saturate on human demand" — there's a finite set of things humans could reasonably want done, and robots will exceed all of it.
His conclusion: once robots run out of things to do for humans, they will start doing things for themselves. The remark reads as an extreme take on post-scarcity abundance and implies autonomous goal-setting for robots.
