IFR report: 5M robots now working, China alone accounts for 59% of 2025 installs

The new IFR report charts the state of robotics in 2025:
- Record stock: 5 million industrial robots in operation, up 9% and more than double the count 7 years ago.
- Record installs: over 600,000 new robots installed in 2025, up 11% YoY.
- China dominates: 354,000 units (+20%), 59% of global installs—more than the rest of the world combined; Chinese vendors' domestic share dipped from 57% to 55% despite selling 195,000 units (+15%).
- US now #2: 38,500 installs (+12), overtaking Japan (-19% to 36,219).
- India scaling fast: 10,500 units (+15%), 27% CAGR since 2020, ranked #6.
- Brazil the surprise: +38% installs, automotive up 212%, driven by Chinese carmakers building plants there.
- Mexico shrinking a third straight year (-7%, under 5,200 units) despite nearshoring hype.
- Europe stalling: Germany -8% (still 41% of EU installs), Italy -11%, France -8%, Spain -15%.
