The Human–Robot Dialogue workshop at IROS 2026 takes place October 1, 8:30 AM–12:30 PM (Room 412), bringing together researchers from robot learning, HRI, NLP, computer vision, and cognitive science to articulate open problems in human–robot dialogue.
Invited talks: Kit Goyal (NVIDIA/UM) on reasoning for robot foundation models from ambiguous instructions to grounded actions; Jacob Andreas (MIT); Jesse Thomason (Georgia Tech) on grounding language in actions and multimodal observations; Bahar Irfan (Familiar Machines & Magic) on detecting user enjoyment to recover from conversation failures. A panel on the field's future features Thomason, Irfan, Gabriel Skantze (KTH/Furhat Robotics), and Matt Marge (DARPA).
