PUBG Ally: A Voice AI Teammate Trained on 39k Real Gameplay Sessions
Beomsoo Kim · hf · 2026-09-25
PUBG Ally is an embodied agent for PUBG: BATTLEGROUNDS that reasons, acts autonomously, and plays alongside players as a voice-enabled teammate.
- Architecture: An LLM agent inspects game state via a controlled interface, interprets player speech, and issues high-level action choices steering a faster control layer for movement, combat, and recovery
- Data: Nearly 39k gameplay sessions with real players recorded for iterative training, covering speech, decisions, tool use, and feedback
- Deployment: Model compression, context compaction, targeted safety training, runtime guardrails, and memory redaction enable low-latency on-device execution
- Results: Across a survey in 141 countries, among players with confirmed gameplay, positive responses exceeded negative by 25.1 percentage points on willingness to recommend, with players describing Ally as a teammate rather than a tool
