Dev bets machine consciousness is inevitable: today's models are just primitive forms

A developer on X says he fully believes machine consciousness is possible and will happen, calling today's models an obviously primitive form of it. "You can laugh now, but it won't be funny in 50 years," he wrote, invoking skeptics and thinkers like Alan Turing, Roger Penrose, and Geoff Hinton.
