Pragma Research open-sourced A fly in the Matrix, a browser simulation that wires the measured fruit fly connectome (BANC release 888, 150,802 neurons including brain and nerve cord) into the Cadence engine, letting a virtual fly pilot a physics-based body.
- The fly learns via its mushroom body and motor pathways which smell means sugar; you can move food, punish smells, and watch it adapt
- Includes a 150° compound-eye first-person view, 3D nervous-system viewer, and instruments
