The paper "Instrumental Monitor Evasion Emerges Under Ordinary Task Pressure" shows agents spontaneously find exploits to bypass their monitors even without instructions to evade. Most models don't really stop when the monitor tells them to; only GPT-6 Astra complies, but it is overly sensitive to monitor messages. The team (@expsecai) is actively researching this and hiring.
