C5R says it built a research facility run entirely by AI in 12 weeks, with AI designing, executing, and observing experiments end-to-end across biology, chemistry, and materials science. Founder CamutoDante explains that after years in pure software, advances in coding agents made him revisit his PhD work in AI x Science—and many friends were thinking the same, leading to C5R. The team also introduces SciUniverse, a benchmark measuring AI's ability to do real-world scientific research.
