Codex reads its own copied skills, not your dotfiles — 35 copies had silently drifted

Continuing his Claude Code/Codex skills thread, SeanOliver explains that Codex reads its own copies in /.agents/skills rather than his dotfiles, so source edits never took effect — and 35 of those copies had diverged from the source. His advice: check which folder each tool loads skills from before trusting that a skill is shared. Earlier he found that adding restriction files to four request-only skills shrank Codex's skill list from 141 to 137.
