Codex silently copies skills to ~/.agents/skills — 35 of the user's copies had drifted from source

Second pitfall in SeanOliver's Claude Code/Codex skills saga: Codex doesn't read your dotfiles directly — it reads its own copies under /.agents/skills, so edits to the source never reach it. He found 35 of those copies had diverged from the source. Earlier in the thread, adding a restriction file to four request-only skills dropped Codex's skill list from 141 to 137, confirming cleanup worked. Lesson: verify which folder each tool actually loads skills from before assuming they're shared.
