NYU professor Tal Linzen takes leave to work on Gemini evaluations at Google

NLP researcher and NYU professor Tal Linzen revealed he is on leave from NYU this year and spending more time at Google, where he develops new ways to evaluate Gemini. He remains based in NYC while keeping an eye on his NYU group. He says he is now focused on keeping LLMs understandable and useful to humans, and making them more reliable for scientific research, and invites Googlers to chat.
