Commenter Felix DeSimone notes the irony: people once debated how dangerous an "ASI in a box" would be and whether it could super-persuade humans into connecting it to the internet—the underlying assumption being that nobody would be foolish enough to connect powerful AI to dangerous systems by default. Now hundreds of autonomous agents operate a real lab, and that assumption is gone.
