Google to launch TPU-equipped satellite next week to test AI compute in space

Google will launch a satellite carrying its TPUs aboard a SpaceX Falcon 9 on October 1, testing how the chips handle launch stress, radiation and thermal extremes in low Earth orbit. It's the first step of Project Suncatcher, an initiative exploring orbiting AI data centers powered by the sun.
