NVIDIA and DeepMind release open structures for 2,800+ virus protein complexes
AllThingsApx · x · 2026-09-24
NVIDIA has joined Google DeepMind and EMBL-EBI to release an open dataset of predicted 3D structures for protein complexes from more than 2,800 viruses, now available in the AlphaFold Database. Structures were inferred with AlphaFold2 and scaled via NVIDIA's BioNeMo Inference Runtime, and NVIDIA is also open-sourcing its BioNeMo Structure Prediction Pipeline. The goal: stockpile biological knowledge ahead of the next pandemic, when scientists may lack COVID-era head starts.
