Where an agent lives matters more than what model it runs, says 6-month test

After testing 9 personal (non-coding) agents since February, the author found retention is predicted not by accuracy or the model, but by where the agent lives: anything requiring a new app died. The three survivors — a Slack bot for standup summaries, an iMessage contact for restaurant recs, and a Shortcuts email triage — all sit inside surfaces already open. This, he argues, explains most of the gap between "impressive demo" and "thing I use on Tuesday."
