HSIR: a Modal-like runtime for scientific AI that keeps data in your VPC, 55.8s on DAX benchmark
retr0jirachi · x · 2026-09-24
Litefold launched the Hybrid Scientific Intelligence Runtime (HSIR), a Modal-like infrastructure layer for scientific AI that is deployment-medium agnostic: the interface stays the same while compute runs on-prem or inside customer VPCs.
Key points:
- HSIR unifies GPU/CPU workflows, agent sandboxes, LLM inference, agent orchestration, and governance into one runtime
- Target: pharma and biotech, where sequences, SAR tables, assay results, and lab notebooks can't be sent to external AI providers. HSIR lets companies run models, agents, and governance on infrastructure they own while still using frontier models and cloud compute in a controlled way
- The bottleneck isn't just model capability—it's whether teams can own the boundary
- Benchmarked: 55.8 seconds on the public DAX full-build benchmark, ahead of Daytona, Vercel, Modal, and Runloop among providers that completed the full workload
