Nutanix acquires Ryax to add GPU sharing and scheduling to its platform

Nutanix announced on September 22 its acquisition of Ryax Technologies, a Lyon-based startup, for an undisclosed sum the company says is not material. Ryax's per-run sizing and shared GPU scheduling will be integrated into Nutanix Kubernetes Platform and Nutanix Enterprise AI. The deal targets a common enterprise pain point: GPUs reserved full-time for jobs that only use them part of the time — a Ryax 30-run test showed 62% fewer node-hours. CEO Rajiv Ramaswami said agentic AI needs simpler operations and more work from the same hardware. Red Hat, Broadcom and Microsoft shipped related GPU sharing controls in the same quarter.
