In the ongoing debate over the LLM pain-representation preprint, researcher rgblong sought clarification: whether the speaker/user separation Tim Dufficy described differs from 'model-directedness' itself, and whether Dufficy's view amounts to saying apparent model-directedness may really be a 'current speaker' representation — which, conditional on prior Anthropic findings, would be less surprising.
