A Reddit user demonstrates that the SynthID watermark in ChatGPT-generated images is visually detectable: asking for an all-grey image and compressing the color space reveals the shimmer pattern. He says the glow is now noticeable in every ChatGPT image, especially generated text, calling it as annoying as the earlier 'piss filter' and unlikely to be fixed given Google and OpenAI's commitment to watermarking.
