Blender MCP hits 29k stars as Opus 5.5 builds cities on medium effort

Using Claude Opus 5.5 with the mcp-for-blender plugin, a Japanese user reproduced the 'city benchmark' scene at only medium effort, noting model capability has far outgrown the test. The open-source project (ahujasid/mcp-for-blender, formerly blender-mcp) has 29.3k stars and lets any LLM drive Blender for prompt-assisted 3D modeling and scene creation. Setup is three steps — install uv, point your MCP client at the server, install the addon — and existing uvx blender-mcp setups keep working after the rename.
