OpenAI has turned ChatGPT Voice from a Q&A assistant into a voice agent that can complete tasks end-to-end: finding calendar slots, spotting duplicate charges and emailing refund requests, building a website with a checkout page, renting a boat via email and booking it after a reply, checking weather, and shopping online. Pitched as hands-free use while cooking.
