Quoting Dvir's assessment, Soumitra Shukla argues the much-publicized Anthropic biology paper is "quite underwhelming" — it covers only basic bioinformatics analysis, far simpler than tasks LLMs have already demonstrated. Strip away the Anthropic PR and it would read as just another standard paper among dozens published daily.
