NYU Courant professor Tristan Buckmaster — famous for the Navier-Stokes equation controversy — spoke at NYU's newly launched "Mathematics in the Age of AI" seminar series, and the talk drew a striking crowd. Lerrel Pinto quipped that this makes sense given NYU has the largest overlap of top math and top AI people.
