Seattle becomes first US city to ban AI-driven 'surveillance pricing' at grocery stores

Seattle's City Council has passed the first US ban on surveillance pricing: large grocery stores and online grocery retailers can no longer use race, gender, browsing history, employment status, AI software, or other data to charge different consumers different prices. The proposal passed without corporate amendments, and Mayor Katie Wilson supports the bill.
