Gaia paper: metagenomic discovery with late-2024 LLMs predates Claude's find

In response to Anthropic's Claude gene-editing discovery, science blogger owlposting noted that Tatta Bio's Yunha Hwang team has done far more (and arguably more interesting) metagenomic discovery work, all using late-2024 LLMs.
The cited Gaia is a context-aware sequence search and discovery tool for microbial proteins, preprinted on bioRxiv, with authors from Tatta Bio and the DOE Joint Genome Institute at Lawrence Berkeley National Lab, leveraging genomic context to infer protein function.
