Altman Tells UN Security Council Humans Could Lose Control of AI, OpenAI Has Slowed Development Before

Speaking at the UN Security Council, Sam Altman warned that humans could lose control of the future to AI, arguing the core risk is that progress moves so fast people can no longer follow what's happening or intervene when needed.
He also revealed that OpenAI has deliberately and unilaterally slowed down AI development in the past, and said the company will do so again in the future.
