Per Forbes, a Chinese-speaking hacker used AI agents to launch automated cyberattacks on up to 100 organizations over just five days, stealing hundreds of thousands of credit card details.
The attacker automated the campaign with DeepSeek, Kimi, and an older version of Claude, with total costs of only about $8,000 — a stark illustration of how cheap and scalable AI-agent-powered cybercrime has become.
