Caritas Venture Co. published a 2026 market map of AI rollups and AI-native private equity, reviewing 80+ owner-operators, acquisition platforms, and transformation firms. Key findings: of 46 firms with enough public record to grade, only two earned an A (third-party verified) — legacy PE firms Vista Equity Partners and Apollo; the 38 newcomers mostly scored B or C. Demos, projected margins, and branded "AI OS" claims didn't count. The core question posed: alpha, or levered beta? The map also serves as an options guide for business owners these firms buy from.
