Merge launches Universal Context Layer, a shared company brain for every AI agent
shensi · x · 2026-09-24
Merge for Workforce launched the Universal Context Layer, targeting two enterprise AI pain points:
- Runaway token spend: AI is now a top enterprise line item growing every quarter, and IT's only lever has been telling employees to use less.
- Repeated context setup: much of enterprise AI spend goes to figuring out what the company already knows — employees spend as much time configuring tools and agents with context as actually using them.
The Universal Context Layer turns company knowledge and skills into a self-improving "company brain" that every AI tool or agent can draw on, cutting redundant context work and token costs.
