Forkable sandboxes: checkpointing every tool call for immutable agent trajectories
sloppenheimer · x · 2026-09-24
Following his 3FS thread, the author asks whether agent sandboxes could checkpoint every single tool and system call, and whether trajectories should be linear or graph-shaped. Forking a sandbox at any point would enable incremental re-runs and retries while keeping a fully immutable trajectory — an interesting direction for agent reliability engineering.
