Schmidhuber: No AI robot can match a plumber — screen-world AI isn't true intelligence

Gary Marcus endorses Schmidhuber's argument: today's working AI lives behind the screen (summarization, chess, theorem proving, image/code generation), yet no AI-controlled robot can do what a plumber — or even a capuchin monkey — can, because the physical world is far more demanding. Passing the Turing Test is much easier than achieving real-world AI, so it's a poor measure of intelligence; no AGI without mastery of the physical world.
