Black Forest Labs released FLUX 3 Action, an open-weights 7B World Action Model that takes first place on the RoboLab benchmark, beating the previous best open model by 6.1 percentage points with 56% fewer parameters and up to 3.95x faster inference.
- Built on FLUX 3's image/video/audio pretraining with a smaller deployment-focused architecture; midtraining teaches it to predict actions and future frames together
- Removes the performance-vs-VLA-speed trade-off: plans more than 2x further ahead while running faster per second of robot motion than the strongest open VLA
- Teams can fine-tune it on their own demonstrations for specific robots and tasks; promising results in gaming, vehicle control, and computer use
- Weights, code, fine-tuning recipes, benchmarks, and reproducible examples are all released
