Claude Opus 5.5 one-shots photoreal 3D water; dev open-sources single-HTML WebGL2 demo
GCWebDesigner · x · 2026-09-24
Developer AurelienGz used Claude Opus 5.5 to one-shot a photorealistic 3D water effect from a video reference, then open-sourced it as Clearwater after requests:
- Real-time, photoreal shallow water in a single HTML file — WebGL2, no libraries, no build step, no external assets
- Built from FFT ocean spectrum, interactive ripples, caustics, per-channel refraction, Fresnel and lens-diffraction glare modules
- URL params for debug stats, glare toggle, time freeze, camera angles, and raw caustics view
- Adaptive resolution keeps frame rate up; needs WebGL2 float render targets
