Jade Leung steps down as UK PM's AI Adviser, becomes Vice-Chair of AI Security Institute

Per a UK government announcement, Dr Jade Leung will step back at the end of September from her full-time roles as the Prime Minister's Adviser on AI and CTO of the AI Security Institute (AISI) due to personal circumstances, becoming Vice-Chair of AISI and Security Advisor to the AI Taskforce.
In her previous roles she helped shape the government's approach to advanced AI across the public sector, national security, and economic growth, and played a leading part in building AISI's technical research capability. Announced by the Cabinet Office, Andy Burnham, and Kanishka Narayan on 23 September 2026.
