Gallup's 2026 World Poll with Microsoft (ultimately 140 countries, 37 completed) finds AI provokes far more curiosity than fear: positive emotions outweigh negative ones in 34 of 37 countries.

Key findings:

Across 37 countries, medians are 81% awareness, 43% ever used, and 57% never used;
Frequent users worry least: 68% of U.S. daily users are concerned vs 80% of less-frequent users;
Singapore leads with 96% aware, 79% ever used, 46% daily use, and 77% of AI-aware adults expecting AI to help the country;
The U.S. sits at the anxious end: 74% worried, only 36% expecting AI to mostly help; Malawi trails at 12% aware, 1% daily use.
