Anthropic launches Life Sciences Verification Program to gate Opus 5.5 bio access

Anthropic announced the Life Sciences Verification Program (LSVP), giving verified life-science professionals access to Mythos, Opus, and Sonnet models for drug discovery, research biology, clinical development, and manufacturing—work currently blocked in general Fable models.
- Access tiers: teams pass verification of research credentials, security standards, and ethical oversight, then apply for "Standard Use" or "High-risk Use" grants usable across Claude Science, Claude.ai, Claude Code, and the API.
- Rollout: dozens of organizations already onboarded via early access; beta opens to teams and institutions now, individual Pro/Max plans later.
- Context: Opus 5.5 matches or beats Mythos 5.1 on many bio tasks but ships with Fable 5.1 safeguards, so most bio queries fall back to Opus 5—announced alongside the LSVP to cut classifier misfires while guarding against sophisticated misuse.
