Cloudflare CTO Dane Knecht makes TIME's exec list, rebuilding web for AI agents

Cloudflare CTO Dane Knecht was named to TIME's 2026 Executives of the Year for rebuilding the company around an internet used by machines as well as humans. By June 2026, 52% of crawler requests Cloudflare saw were for AI training, up from 22% in spring 2025. Key moves include the Agent Cloud standard for running and securing agents across model providers, plus pay-per-crawl and a Monetization Gateway so publishers can charge automated systems for content access.
