Agent Desktop: Give Your AI Agent Its Own Real macOS Account, Now Open Source

Jason Kneen's open-source Agent Desktop got an update: easier setup, a native app wrapping the viewer, and the ability to interact with the agent's desktop from yours on the same Mac.
The core idea: give an AI agent a real macOS login account (not a virtual framebuffer). The agent sees and clicks in that real desktop via computer use; you watch live in a browser and can grab control anytime, while nothing it does lands on your own screen. Architecture: agentensis-cu (MCP server for screen capture + input) and mac-vnc-server (streams the desktop). The author argues a second macOS account beats driving your own desktop or a VM, since it offers real apps and logins with a hard per-account permission boundary. Free and open source.
