Tim Dettmers details CliffCompaction usage: easy to pair with Codex and Claude Code, integrated into his autonomous research harness bitsandbytes code — pip install cliffcompaction, then cliff enable. It manages a separate compaction state between you and any OpenAI/Anthropic API. His main drivers are now DeepSeek v4.1 and MiMo v2.6 Flash, which compact exceptionally well and beat Astra on long-horizon, medium-complexity problems like engineering and kernel development; Astra still wins on hard problems.
