Grok Imagine now offers fine-grained control over uploaded images: each one can be designated as the first frame, an intermediate frame, the last frame, a loop, or a reference — instead of handing Grok one image and hoping for the best. Reference images can separately guide style, characters, products, scenes, and overall visual direction. The author argues this feels less like generating a video and much more like directing one, from a single idea to a full scene.
