Senator Bernie Sanders has officially introduced a bill to ban artificial superintelligence and create a US "Department of AI." Developer Kye Gomez quipped that someone should instead propose banning senators "dumber than 2022-era LLMs." It marks one of the first legislative proposals explicitly targeting ASI in the US.
