Critic calls Googlebook hardware 'unambitious': Intel opted out of consumer NPUs

Reacting to Google's new premium Googlebook laptops—co-developed with Acer, ASUS, Dell, HP and Lenovo, featuring next-gen Intel & Qualcomm chips with 45+ TOPS NPUs, up to 2.8K OLED displays, 16GB RAM standard and up to 14 hours of battery—commenter Julian Harris called the hardware lineup "spectacularly unambitious." He says he looked hard at Intel's NPU offering and concluded Intel has essentially opted out of the consumer market; for non-Mac buyers, it's really only Nvidia and AMD left.
