Using Microsoft's own data, aakashgupta explains why the 7 AM coworker is sanest: half of all work meetings land between 9-11 AM and 1-3 PM — exactly when many people's brains peak. For the most-pinged fifth of Microsoft 365 users, a meeting, email or chat arrives every 2 minutes during core hours (275 pings/day). Word, Excel and PowerPoint usage only overtakes Teams on weekends, showing focus work gets pushed to non-work hours. Early arrival buys uninterrupted deep time.
